Do I need a permit for a fence in Riverside?
The City of Riverside Building & Safety Division requires a building permit for fences and walls over 6 feet, and for retaining walls over 4 feet measured from the bottom of the footing. We will tell you at the estimate what your project needs.

Which fence material lasts longest in Riverside?
Vinyl asks the least of you in full inland sun, wrought iron is the strongest and keeps a view open, and wood gives the traditional look but wants resealing every few years.
Can you build on a sloped lot?
Yes. Alessandro Heights, Hawarden Hills and parts of Canyon Crest sit on grade, so we step or rake the fence to follow the slope instead of leaving gaps underneath.
