Fences, Gates and Block Walls for Redlands Homes, from Historic Districts to New Tracts.

25+
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
ALPHA FENCE COMPANY designs and installs fencing in wrought iron, vinyl, cedar and chain link, along with block walls and gates, for homes and businesses across Redlands, from Smiley Park and Downtown to Lugonia, Crafton and Mentone.

On older streets we build fences that suit a century-old house, and in newer neighborhoods we match the tract's style.

From our Riverside yard it is about a 30 mile run out the 215 and the 10.

Why Redlands Chooses Us

Historic Districts
Built for Heat
Fire-Aware Options
Fences in Redlands historic districts need a Minor Certificate of Appropriateness. We supply the specs for review and design to suit the period.
July highs here average in the mid-90s, so we recommend materials and finishes that will not warp, fade or crack, and we seal wood properly.
Parts of southern and eastern Redlands sit in Very High fire hazard zones near San Timoteo Canyon and Crafton Hills, where iron or block can be the smarter choice.

How We Serve Redlands

The Drive
Scheduling
City Rules
Redlands is about 30 miles from our Riverside yard. We take the 91 East to the I-215 North, then the I-10 East, exiting at Alabama Street, Tennessee Street or Orange Street.
Off-peak the trip is around 40 minutes. Redlands summers are hot, so in July and August we start installs at first light and finish the heavy work before afternoon.
Redlands requires a permit for fences over 6 feet and masonry walls over 3 feet. Front-yard fences are limited to 3 feet solid or 4 feet open.

Reviews From Inland Empire Customers
I had Alpha Company come to my home in Corona to repair a section of old weathered wood fence. Roger was very educational over the phone was able to quote a price through a couple of pictures exchanged on our cell phones came out when he said he would be there and finish the job when he said he was going to I would highly recommend Alpha fence company for any future fence needs
Scott J., Corona
I just purchased a house and needed to add new gate and fence. I was referred to Alpha Company. Roger, the owner was very friendly and was very easy to work with. He gave me one estimate and gave me the timeline for the job, and that was exactly how it happened. He called me after the job was completely to ask me if I was happy with everything, and I really was. I highly recommend them.
Brenda M., Riverside
Roger and his team did an outstanding job! ... Very professional...came for an estimate the same day I called and emailed me the quote within 30 minutes of his visit. ... We replaced a 20+ year old wooden fence with vinyl ... The work was amazing and our new fence is straight as an arrow and solid as a rock.

Permits & Historic Homes
Materials & Heat
Fire Zones & Timing
Do I need approval for a fence in a Redlands historic district?
Yes. New fences or walls in historic districts and on landmark properties need a Minor Certificate of Appropriateness from the Planning Division. We help you prepare the details.

When does Redlands require a building permit?
The Building & Safety Division requires one for wood, vinyl, chain link or metal fences over 6 feet and for masonry or concrete walls over 3 feet.

Is the estimate free in Redlands too?
Yes. Redlands is about 30 miles from our yard, and we still measure on site and send a written quote at no charge. Call 951.941.5980.
What fence material handles Redlands heat best?
Vinyl and wrought iron hold up well to summer heat with little upkeep. Wood looks right on older homes but needs a good sealer and an occasional fresh coat.

Can you match the look of an older home?
Yes. We build picket, board-on-board and iron fences in period-friendly styles for craftsman, Victorian and other historic Redlands homes.

Does my fire zone affect what I should build?
It can. Near San Timoteo Canyon, Live Oak Canyon and Crafton Hills, iron or block keeps less wood next to the house.
Do you fence commercial and industrial sites?
Yes. We install chain link, iron and block fencing for warehouses, yards and job sites, including the industrial area around Alabama Street.

How long does a fence take to install?
A typical Redlands backyard fence takes a day or two once demolition is done. Masonry walls take several days so the footing can cure properly.
